An exceptionally rare and pristine example of Isamu Noguchi's Light sculpture: 70XL shade on BB3 base. Original box for the 70XL shade. 
The bright red Sun and Moon stamp on the shade indicates that this is the earliest edition of Noguchi's Akari and it has rarely been used. "Made in Japan" appears alongside the Ozeki original sticker on the BB3 base. This work came from an estate in New Mexico, where the original owner brought it over from Japan in the 1970s and kept it in storage since then.
The shade is in excellent condition, with very light discoloration due to age, and the same goes for the base.

This is a museum-quality piece, ready to be used and enjoyed.
